Update on the government plans to help SMEs during current situation

By

Is your business affected by the current situation ?

I wanted to share an update with the summary of the help for small businesses, offered by the government:

1. Statutory sick pay relief package for SME's - refund will cover up to 2 weeks' SSP per eligible employee who has been off work because of COVID-19

2. One off grant of £10 000 - Support for businesses that pay little or no business rates. Businesses don't need to apply. They will be contacted by the local authorities.

3. All retail, leisure and hospitality companies will be exempt from paying the business rates for the whole year.

4. Coronavirus Business Loan Interruption Scheme, delivered by the British Business Bank, will start from next week. The government will provide 80% guarantee on each loan plus the first 6 months will be interest free.

"It will be provided by the British Business Bank through participating providers, and will offer more attractive terms for both businesses applying for new facilities and lenders, with the aim of supporting the continued provision of finance to UK businesses during the Covid-19 outbreak"
