One outcome from attending the fabulous Lancashire Day in Nov was the connection with Red Rose Radio DJ Steve Wilson. After an initial discussion Steve offered an opportunity to arrange an interview with regards to the free Webinars for parents, carers and family members and Webinars for professionals on the issues of child criminal exploitation and county lines. These Webinars are a partnership between No Whispers CIC and the National organisation Missing People. For the past year we have been working to raise awareness of the significant concerns affecting children and young people who may be fearful or being coerced and threatened as part of this form of child exploitation. The resulting interview gave me the opportunity to educate and inform listeners and Steve decided to keep the 14 mins interview whole and create a link to the Red Rose Radio website for people to listen to at their leisure and in their own time. I thought this was a sensible idea considering how impactful some of the stats and information could be for a first time listener. The interview was posted on social media as well as mentioned more than once on Steve's Sunday morning programme and as a result No Whispers CIC have been invited to work with Missing People on a new peer support project. I loved Steve's genuine interest in our work and the difficult topic I wanted to talk about to raise people's awareness as well as promote a free Webinar opportunity for information, advice and support.
