Yorkshare Day Celebrates Yorkshire's Spirit Of Sharing

By
Businesses from across Yorkshire and beyond came together at the Pavilions of Harrogate to celebrate the official launch of Yorkshare and explore the power of collaboration, local supply chains and community-led growth.

Supported by sponsors TryBooking UK and The Business Catalyst Club, the event welcomed organisations from a wide range of sectors, creating opportunities for new conversations, partnerships and connections.

Yorkshare is part of the wider GB Shared movement, which is rebuilding local economic infrastructure county by county by helping organisations connect, share and grow together. Through the platform, businesses, charities, public sector organisations and communities can share opportunities, knowledge, resources, events, jobs, funding and support, helping to strengthen local economies and create measurable impact.

Throughout the day, attendees discovered how much value already exists within their local ecosystem. Conversations highlighted a common theme: many of the opportunities organisations are searching for are often closer than they realise.

Guests explored how sharing can help:

  • - Strengthen local supply chains
  • - Increase business visibility
  • - Support local employment
  • - Create social value
  • - Improve sustainability outcomes
  • - Build stronger regional connections

The event also showcased Yorkshire's appetite for collaboration, with new members joining the platform and a growing number of organisations committing to work together to support local growth and opportunity.

Lisa Edge, Founder of GB Shared, said:
"Yorkshare Day was a fantastic reminder of why GB Shared exists. Bringing businesses, charities, communities and partners together in one room demonstrated just how much potential exists within our local economies when people choose to collaborate rather than compete. The energy, conversations and connections throughout the day were incredibly positive, and we're excited to continue building momentum across Yorkshire."

Event speakers included Emma Precious from Tandem Bids, Imran Ahmed of Aura Global Solutions, Sally Brentson, Limelight HR, Joan Lind, Trybooking UK, Graham Shiers, Business Catalyst Club.  Keith Madeley, The Cones Books, Nigel Greenwood, Simply Customer, and Fiona Ibbotson of Get Ahead VA.

The success of Yorkshare Day marks another milestone in GB Shared's mission to create a connected ecosystem in every UK county, helping opportunities become more visible, accessible and impactful.

As momentum continues to build, Yorkshire joins a growing national network of organisations committed to sharing opportunities, supporting one another and creating stronger local economies.
