To be honest, I can't believe I'm still having the same conversations I had over 10 years ago...

"Is my small business REALLY a target for hackers?” Genuine question at a networking event.

The Answer: "Yes it is. But probably not in the way you think."

There's unlikely to be some bloke in a hoodie staring at your website thinking:

"Ooohh... Look at that business in Doncaster! Tonight… we take down "Dave's Plumbing Supplies.” 🤪

Most cybercriminals aren't specifically looking for you... They're looking for an opportunity.

Cybercriminals are (largely) lazy people... they aren't targeting YOU specifically (unless you've done something to upset them!)

Sending millions of phishing emails, scanning thousands of systems for vulnerabilities and trying millions of stolen passwords is pretty simple these days... and it's getting easier with AI.

It's a numbers game and all they're looking for is an unlocked door.

All you have to do is do what you can to protect yourself. It honestly doesn't take much... just don't think you have NOTHING of value.

If that was the case... Go delete all your emails, and post your banking details below.  If you're not willing to do that, then please do something with your security.
