But while many were asking "What caused it?" The real question should be ...

"What would you do if it happened and took longer to come back?"

👉 What are your Contingency plans? 
👉 Do you have manual processes to turn to? 
👉 And if you do, how do they ensure security?

Some people in cybersecurity believe that an outage like this has nothing to do with Security (I'm not one of them). 

Good information security is about Confidentiality, integrity and availability - it doesn't matter HOW these are compromised. When they are, that's a big problem for us.

🧐 What are your contingency plans if they go down?
🧐 When does an outage become a crisis for you?

If the AWS outage didn't affect you, great. But don't let it go to waste. Still ask the above questions and build out your plan today.
