Still Waters Run Deep: Railings Project

By
I had the pleasure of working with two local primary schools on a project connected to a proposed park at the meeting point of two rivers.

As a Chartered Landscape Architect, I’m always keen to help children engage with landscape processes in creative and meaningful ways.

Together, we explored the movement of water through a range of activities:

·        Observing coloured inks swirling and blending in water
·        Listening to music inspired by rivers and describing the flow
·        Moving like droplets – from fast sources to the open sea
·        Creating drawings to express movement and change
·        Using paper rope to map the river’s journey across the floor

It was a simple yet powerful way to bring river dynamics to life.

Have you ever seen children respond to landscape in such an imaginative way?
