West Lancashire College now offers a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Climate Change and Environmental Awareness, it is a fully accredited course awarded via NCFE awarding body.
Learning takes place via an on-line platform therefore individuals are able to learn at a time that suits without the need to attend college. At the start of the course learners will be allocated a tutor who will support throughout the qualification, learners will be provided with all learning and assessment materials which have been specifically developed to meet the qualification requirements. Tutor’s will also provide written feedback on work completed once submitted and provide ongoing support through email and remote tutorials if required.
Individuals who enrol on this course will gain understanding in the Environment and Climate Change, including:
·ecosystem services
·air/oxygen, water and food
·food chains
·Environment and the challenges
·Causes of global warming
·Melting glaciers
·Sea level rise
·Drought.
The qualification is designed to provide individuals with an introduction to the principles of climate change and environmental awareness. It will ensure that those completing the course will understand the nature of climate change and the role they can play in helping to reduce carbon emissions. Through achieving the qualification, learners will gain the knowledge and understanding to act as drivers of positive change within the workplace and at home.
