Six Connections bolsters its commitment to Mental Health with its new status as a Community Interest Company (CIC)

By
Burnley, UK – Six Connections Ltd, the Burnley-based leading mental health organisation, is proud to announce the launch of its new Community Interest Company, Six Connections Community CIC. This significant update marks a strengthened commitment to making mental health discussions accessible to all, particularly within grassroots sports, the charitable sector, and education.

Mates on a Mission: Andi Lewis and Dave Scholes of Six Connections

Driven by Dave Scholes and Andi Lewis, Six Connections has been a vital platform for fostering open conversations about mental health. “Since setting up Six Connections, I have met so many brilliant businesspeople who deeply care about this cause,” said Scholes. “Our newly appointed board of non-executive directors, all sharing a common passion and commitment, are set to propel our mission forward.”

Lisa Sourbutts, Managing Director of Cube HR and Six Connections CIC board member commented on her alignment with the organisation’s core values: “I joined the board because the values of Six Connections are the same as my own. People are at the centre of everything I do and that’s always been important to me both personally and professionally. I want to help share Dave & Andi’s vision to save the world one conversation at a time – Powered by Mates.”

Lesley Burrows, Managing Director of Positive Footprints, shared her personal motivation for joining the board: “I have family and friends who have struggled with mental health and lost a male friend to suicide when I was younger. Supporting people to talk more openly about mental health and providing means of support is close to my heart.”

Jaydee Davis, Managing Director at Community & Business Partners, also expressed her enthusiasm: “I am thrilled to have been asked to join the CIC board of Six Connections Community, inspired by Dave’s unwavering passion and the organisation’s mission to save the world.”

The commitment of Six Connections to enhancing mental health support is further evidenced by their recent accolade, the ‘Health and Wellbeing Award’ at the Lancashire Business View Red Rose Awards in March 2024. This recognition underscores the impact of their efforts and the critical role of community involvement.

As a CIC, Six Connections Community invites the corporate world to join them in this crucial mission, demonstrating how businesses can actively contribute to societal well-being. Their approach, “Powered by Mates,” highlights the strength of community and shared responsibility in addressing the global Mental Health crisis.
