Self Isolating? You are not alone!

By

Since the gym had to close its doors we have moved both Unit 2 Fitness clients and The Billy Project members on to our online group. This group has already been running for over 2 years for ladies that preferred workouts from home and is already filled with an abundance of home workouts, meal ideas, advice and motivational posts.

Since moving gym members online, the Billy Project has built up a great community of over 200 women. The online group consists of a private Facebook group where we post daily workouts including HIIT sessions, low impact for our disabled members and Bootcamp classes. There are weekly and monthly challenges targeting certain areas like abs or arms. We have a walking/running group which encourages ladies to take a daily 25 minute/3 mile run or walk. We add meal ideas and nutritional advice such as why its ok to add a few glasses of wine in to your day or that slice of cake! We are also adding quizzes and puzzles daily just to mix it up a bit and not just be fitness based. The group is also being used as an emotional support tool amongst our members. Ladies are starting to struggle now with being in lock down for so long and it makes everybody feel better that they are not alone or the only person feeling that way.

Off the back of this emotional support that we are offering, we have added a new service of phone calls, video chats or texts for vulnerable ladies in the community who are feeling alone or lonely during this period.

If you or someone you know needs a bit of support and motivation to exercise and improve mental health during this tough period in time, why not visit our page and get in touch!
