What we do
The Billy Project caters for women aged 16+, living in Blackburn with Darwen, who have been identified as vulnerable or isolated, this includes but not limited to mental health problems, victim of domestic violence, alcohol or drug misuse, family issues, physical or learning disabilities.
We are a ladies only gym based charity & our aim is to better women's knowledge of health & nutrition, build confidence, create friendships, tackle social isolation & integrate our community. We are based at Unit 2 Fitness for Women in Mill Hill, Blackburn.
We can also refer ladies on to other services through our referral partners, which include:
Inspire Drug & Alcohol services
The Wish Centre
Newground
Creative Support
One Voice
and more.
Our services are funded, new members will receive an induction around the gym, a programme set out for their personal goals and abilities , weight & measurement can be monitored & members will receive one free hour time slot each week. Members can access the service out of project hours & either use the gym or attend evening classes for just £1 which goes straight back in to the project.
