The Nybble team are delighted to be shortlisted for the HIVE Blackburn with Darwen Business Awards 2019.
Nominated for the Commitment to Blackburn and Darwen Award, the team have worked tirelessly over the past year to strengthen their relationships within the region and be of help and benefit to the community.
After becoming the digital partner to Blackburn Rovers football club they supported a fundraising effort for the homeless, by sleeping under the stars. A marathon football even organised by Business Development manager Chris Ginger, raised funds for Derian House. Owner and Director, Ram Gupta overcame a fear of heights and leapt out of a plane for the East Lancashire Hospice helping raise funds for their corporate challenge appeal.
Nybble went on to donate virtual reality kits to the hospice, allowing people to travel through the use of cutting edge software from the comfort of their beds. Eventually walking away winners of the 2019 challenge, Nybble raised over £9000 for the charity in total. Positive publicity led to features on both the BBC evening news and ITV Granada reports as well as local radio and press, shining a light on how the region is full of businesses helping where needed and being supportive of one another. Not so grim up north after all!
The formation of the Nybble Academy with Accrington and Rossendale college, providing learning opportunities and apprenticeship placement for future IT engineers was a highlight. Our first apprentice, Dan, is doing really well.
Best of luck to the other nominees, every one a winner in our eyes. We will keep our fingers crossed.
