From 23 Sept - 5 October I will be walking 177 miles along the Pennine Way from Horton in Ribblesdale to Kirk Yetholm. Together with my husband Pete, we will be raising much needed funds for Reubens Retreat
Reuben's Retreat is a charity born out of the loss of a beautiful boy, Reuben Michael Graham in 2012 who passed away at just 23 months old. They support families who have lost a child and those who face an uncertain future due to their child living with a life threatening or life limiting condition. They are currently renovating their forever home in stages to create a holiday home from home for families to visit together and make precious memories with their children. Every penny & pound donated will enable them to take a step closer to completing their retreat and providing a sanctuary for families who desperately need that special time together.
These 13 days are holiday for us. Most people who work in travel are jetting off to the Greek Islands or the Caribbean. We should have been doing Everest Base Camp, but not to be. Although we won't have the altitude to contend with, it will be a challenge in its own right with over 5700m of cumulative ascent over those 2 weeks. Hopefully the weather will stay kind to us. Not only is this our holiday, my husband Pete will be celebrating his retirement, and we will be spending our 10th wedding anniversary walking from Once Brewed to Bellingham, a distance of 15 miles.
Donations of any size would be really appreciated - it will help us on our way, and really benefit the families who rely on this amazing charity. The link is below. Thankyou so much.
