Imagine this...

You receive a call from your daughter/son/wife/husband/partner...

"Hi I'm so sorry. I've lost my wallet and need to get home!  A kind stranger has loaned me his phone to call you but I need £100 to get home!  Can I share his back account details so that he can give me the money please?"

Or worse...

"We have your child... If you don't pay £4,000, you won't see them again." then you hear your Childs voice in the background screaming and crying... "MOM! DAD! Please... Help me!!"

Sounds like something out of a scary movie right?

Time moves on... And cybercriminals are now using AI to create Deepfake versions of your loved ones. We are hearing more and more scams involving deepfake voice AND video, and the worse part is they only need 5 seconds of audio or video to do this (how many videos do you have online with your loved ones?)

This is why I'm now asking people to have a SAFEWORD for their family.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a loved one, or claiming to hold your loved one, simply ask them "What is the family safeword?" This is enough to shut down this scam and give you the comfort you need that all is well.

Have this conversation today.  The good thing is that it's a word you can all choose and you don't need to change it... just keep it secret.  

So... go have the conversation and choose your safeword. You may never need it... but then again, you might.
