You may have already spent some time as a team understanding what you need to be measuring when working towards your goals. So, it’s now time to think about how you keep track of what you have achieved.

? Firstly, once you’ve identified your measures, it’s important to identify and consolidate where the data comes from.

? Once you’ve made this assessment, you then need to decide where you want the data to be stored to generate your reports.

? This brings us to the next step: setting up a dashboard which, ideally, automatically pulls the data from its source. There are two approaches here: using the systems which are already integrated in your business or investing in integrating new technology. When deciding which approach to take, you need to consider your team’s capabilities and whether integrating new technology may require any additional training.

? Once you have this data in your dashboard, you should be able to access, and understand, your measures in real time, as well as create reports.

Now, this doesn’t have to feel like a complete overhaul, and that’s where I can help. I’ve worked with companies to assess their data needs and capabilities and create mechanisms based on what they already have in place.
