meeow On-Demand Networking has teamed up with not-for-profit initiative JUST ONE TREE to further strengthen its commitment to positive environmental change. For every full-house meeow session, the money to plant one tree will be donated.
The online video networking platform is already a greener way for businesses to meet as it reduces the need to drive to meetings, decreasing car emissions, reducing fuel usage, and sparing the extra resources that go into an in-person event.
Chris Rabbitt, meeow co-founder and CEO said: “The environmental impact of our business behaviours is something that everyone should take into consideration. From not driving the extra miles, to going paperless in the office, there are small things that we can do every day to make a positive impact on the environment.
“We would never claim to be carbon neutral, but meeow’s online and on-demand networking is certainly a greener way of doing business. We’re committed to the green agenda, and joining JUST ONE TREE is a great way to strengthen this pledge.”
JUST ONE Tree is a non-profit initiative removing CO2 from the atmosphere and reversing biodiversity loss through global reforestation. The organisation plants trees in areas severely affected by deforestation to maximise the effect on reducing global warming. In the process they help to provide agricultural education and sustainable incomes for local communities.
In addition, JUST ONE Tree concentrates on restoring the entire ecosystem by planting on land and in the oceans, as well as helping to shape the next generation of planet-conscious thinkers by bringing environmental education into the classroom with lesson plans and JUST ONE Tree Day.
Chris continued: “Climate change affects us all. Trees are an incredibly effective way to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. JUST ONE Tree makes it easy for us all to do exactly that. The problem is solvable and we want to do what we can to help.”
