One of the garden styles I explore in my upcoming book is the Water Garden.

 

A water garden can be centred around a pond, lake, stream, rill or waterfall, bringing movement, reflection and a sense of calm to the landscape. 

 

It doesn't always have to include water itself though, as carefully chosen materials and planting can also capture its essence.

 

As a Chartered Landscape Architect, I believe a well-designed water garden creates a peaceful, balanced space that connects people with nature while providing beauty and interest throughout the year.
