We understand that making the decision to adopt isn’t something that you will take lightly and it is likely something that you have probably been considering for some time. There is so much information and it can become overwhelming when trying to wade through the endless material and advice that is available online at the click of a button.
This is why we strongly recommend that you attend one of our Adoption information events. There’s nothing like speaking to a real person and these events will provide you with an opportunity to connect with our adoption team and other adopters. Their purpose is to help you to find out about the adoption process; the different routes there are to adoption, to get answers to your questions and to get a feel about what we’re about at Caritas Care.
So, why do we recommend you attend an information event? To help you to understand the adoption process
During our information event, we will provide you with a step-by-step overview of the adoption process, giving you information on what happens at each stage of your adoption journey with us. Understanding the process will help you to prepare yourselves both mentally and emotionally.
Meet our adoption team and adoptersAdoption information events are a great way to meet our team and other adopters who have been where you are right now. Each one can bring their own area of expertise and, in some instances, share their experiences with you, whether this be from the perspective of an adopter or as an assessing adoption social worker.
To learn about the various routes to adoptionAdoption information events offer an opportunity to explore the different types of adoption, provide you with information about the groups of children who are currently waiting for adoption, and the different options available for you to consider. This includes traditional adoption and what we call Early Permanence, which involves Fostering for Adoption and Adopting with Concurrent Planning. Exploring the different types of adoption at these events will help you to make an informed decision about which route is right for you.
Get your questions answeredAll of our Adoption information events include Q&A sessions, where you can ask questions and get answers from our social workers and often an adopter. What better opportunity for you to get specific information about the whole adoption process or to get answers to any concerns or questions that you might have.
Attending an adoption information event can be a key moment in your adoption journey. The knowledge, links, and support you will receive at these events will go some way to help you make an informed decision.
ConfidentialityWe understand that at this stage in your adoption journey you might be just gathering information and not ready to throw yourself into this world just yet. That is why we will always give you the option to remain anonymous at our events and we are happy for you to have your cameras turned off. Of course you will have given us your details when you booked on to the event and we can assure that we will only use this to contact you about your enquiry and will never share anything with a third party.
