Currently, a DBS check is a legal requirement for many industries and many job roles. As part of the recruitment process for eligible roles, such as Doctors, Nurses and Teachers, a DBS check is carried out on the individual through their potential employer, to ensure they make safer recruitment decisions when working with specific groups.

We understand and acknowledge that many self employed individuals or sole traders work within settings alongside vulnerable adults and children and that currently, they cannot obtain a DBS check for themselves.
