Preparation Is Heating Up For CoolKit Ahead Of CV Show

By

CoolKit will be showcasing their latest Volkswagen Crafter refrigerated vehicle at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show.

The Trendline model, one of their most popular large vehicles in 2018, has been fitted with a dual-temperature conversion enabling the vehicle to carry frozen and chilled goods simultaneously.

Visitors to the show will be able to view the vehicles’ moveable lightweight bulkhead, which allows for flexibility regarding the size of each compartment – and the ability to use the full space as either freezer or chiller, depending on the cargo.

The medium wheelbase van features GRP high-impact reinforced panels – a more durable and lightweight alternative to traditional conversion methods – offering an improved payload.

Loredana Emmerson, Marketing Manager at CoolKit, said: “We are delighted to have a presence once again at the CV Show exhibiting the latest innovations, designs and quality of our vehicles.

“We are specialists in temperature-controlled conversions for a wide range of industries and pride ourselves on being the market-leading refrigerated panel van converter for customers in the UK.

“At a time when vehicles are getting heavier, we are able to combat with weight savings concepts which can offer improvements on payload by up to 150kg depending on the make, model and specification. This is achieved by our innovative approach to the materials used within the conversions, together with rigorous testing and feedback from clients.”

The vehicle also features an external side slab door, anti-slip GRP textured floor, pallet loading protection pack and high-intensity LED lighting.

Unique to CoolKit, the van has been fitted with the CurtAir system to both side and rear entrance, creating an effective and invisible climate separation set to keep the cold, or in some cases heat, inside and the ambient humid air outside during door openings.

“It has certainly been a team effort in getting this vehicle show-ready”, continues Loredana.

“The vehicle has been provided by our local Volkswagen Van Centre in Lancashire, with whom we enjoy a trusted relationship, after gaining the status of Volkswagen Integrated Partner back in 2017.”

Dave Young, LBDM at the Centre, said: “I find the entire team at CoolKit to be very knowledgeable and the expertise demonstrated by the sales team, both in offering guidance and supporting customer meetings as invaluable.”

The lightweight bulkhead has been sourced from long-standing supplier Commercial Body Fittings Ltd.

Simon Ragless, Special Projects Manager at CBF, said: “The Cool-Guard insulated bulkhead features a lightweight core and market-leading fan kit to enable the transportation of frozen, chilled or ambient produce within the same vehicle. This maximises the payload whilst offering optimum flexibility to the operator.

He added: “It’s great to be working with such a forward-thinking, professional company like CoolKit, who continue to invest in the future.”

Finally, the vehicle includes the SevenEye Tracking System and Transcan Advance recorder and printer, supplied by Seven Telematics.

Martin Jane, Sales Director at Seven Telematics, said the Transcan Advance temperature recorder provides reliable and easy to use temperature tracking within commercial vehicles.

The technology which works across any type of refrigeration system, makes management and compliance easier and provides a comprehensive field of information, whether that’s for a single van or across an entire fleet.

He said: “Commercial business-owners have told us that having the Transcan Advance and Seven Eye System on board is invaluable in reducing risks on the road and maintaining cargo integrity.”

CoolKit is also set to exhibit a range of Melform insulated containers and is currently working on an exciting second vehicle to display, with more information soon to be released.

Their exhibit can be found in the CoolZone on stand 3C50 during the event, which runs from 30thApril to 2nd May.
