National training provider, North Lancs Training Group (NLTG), have announced a partnership with Lancashire based Preston’s College.
The new partnership will see the expansion of high quality hospitality training for learners and employers within Preston and the surrounding areas.
NLTG are one of the largest providers of workplace training and Apprenticeships in the country and celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2019. Delivering to over 800 companies and 1,500 learners at any one time, the new partnership will strengthen NLTG’s portfolio and revitalise the availability of hospitality training in the local area.
Preston’s College, who have recently been graded as a ‘Good Provider’ by Ofsted, offer technical education and skills from entry to degree level, providing the technical skills, knowledge and experience that universities and employers are looking for.
Using state-of-the-art training facilities at Preston’s College, NLTG will deliver programmes for young people aged 16-19 and adults looking to join, or return to, the job market.
NLTG’s innovative 18 week Traineeship programme will provide young people with a blend of classroom-based learning, essential qualifications and invaluable workplace training, supported by on-going careers guidance and subsidised travel. The first cohort of trainees started at the end of January and NLTG are already interviewing for the second programme.
Unemployed adults aged 19+ are able to access NLTG’s short hospitality course to gain essential skills, qualifications and employability expertise.
Gareth Lindsay, NLTG Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to continue our working relationship with Preston’s College, and to provide further opportunities for skills development to Lancashire residents and employers.
“Our new partnership will help meet the workforce needs of the hospitality sector by providing specialist training for learners in outstanding facilities, with access to further learning opportunities and expert support. We are looking forward to the future expansion of our partnership.”
Dr Lis Smith, Principal & Chief Executive at Preston’s College, added: “Our new partnership with NLTG will help provide the local community with access to quality Hospitality provision in a bespoke learning environment.
“The partnership will also benefit the county’s workforce by ensuring there is a pipeline of highly skilled staff progressing into the industry.”
