More that 130 people attended and enjoyed an evening of shopping and socialising.

Also, huge thanks to everyone who turned up on the evening to support our charity, it was lovely to see so many people there having fun and grabbing some hot bargains!’

Susan Swarbrick said on Facebook 'Such a good night...thanks to everyone who supported us!'
Here's a poem Sharon wrote about the night, which sums up the atmosphere and it's success…
Our recent charity fund raiser was a ladies fashion show,
And we were very blessed as over 130 people chose to go.
We didn’t know what to expect, would it succeed or fail?
But in the interval it became obvious when ladies dashed to each clothing rail.
Arms laden with clothes, they couldn’t wait until the end,
Grabbing their chosen outfits, money to spend.
The fitting rooms not yet open but they didn’t take time to vent,
They just tried on in the ladies, disabled loo and even the gents!
Finally the compere brought them back to their seats with an offer of a prize or two,
And they all got their tickets ready as the raffle enthusiastically drew.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening, starting with a glass of fizz in hand,
And time spent browsing the stalls, Body Shop, Soy Candles and jewellery stand.
When the time came to make their purchases they formed a lengthy queue,
The fashion company Colours, had a busy job to do!
Once all purchases were made and it was time to go,
We began to count the takings and evaluate the success of the show.
A huge thanks and well done to everyone who gave a hand,
We put fun into fundraising and raised over a grand.
A thank you to all the ladies who supported Caritas Care,
We’ll be doing it again next year and hope to see you there!
The evening raised an amazing £1,200.00, which will help to support the valued work we do across the charity and local area for children, families and communities.
Caritas Care would like to thank Colours for their wonderful catwalk models and entertaining compere; Body shop; Matty’s Luxury Soy Candles and Sparkle Jewellery for displaying their products and supporting the event.
We will be hosting another event next year, so check out our events pages for more information.
