A Chorley-based healthcare business has rebranded and recruited three new staff members after receiving advice through Boost – Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub.
FISC Healthcare, a family business established in 2011 has now launched the ‘CareHomeLife’ brand to help position it as a specialist provider of care home products and services across the UK.
From its base at Matrix Park, Buckshaw Village, the business provides medical supplies, personal hygiene products, professional cleaning and laundry solutions, to 500 private care homes.
Managing director Joel Fishwick and his team launched the new brand after carrying out a strategic review with help from business consultant Cheryl Jones of NXO Communications. The support was partly funded by Boost’s Propel2Grow programme.
Boost is Lancashire's Business Growth Hub and is led by the Lancashire LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) and Lancashire County Council and supported by funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Joel said: “Cheryl helped us to develop our CareHomeLife brand which is formed around the challenges faced by private care home owners and managers and this has enabled us to improve our product range to fully support their needs.
“Under this solutions-based service we can provide tailored housekeeping, incontinence and laundry systems, which help care homes drive down costs, improve efficiencies and work towards an ‘outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).”
“On the back of this we have created new roles in marketing and logistics as well as appointing a buyer. We now employ 30 staff across the business.”
Cheryl said: “Joel understands well the challenges faced by care homes and I guided him and his team to formulate a brand and marketing strategy around this. Through identifying key care home requirements, I was then able to support them to better communicate what they have to offer.”
County councillor Michael Green, cabinet member for economic development, environment and planning, said: “The care home sector continues to expand and we’re always proud to hear of success stories where our involvement via Boost's Propel2Grow programme has helped get a company on to the next level.
“It’s also great to hear that companies like CareHomeLife are growing and creating new jobs as well as helping to improve the care of local people, which brings wider economic benefits.”
