Cyber Security isn’t just a priority—it’s the future of business. Blackburn College is proud to introduce a brand-new Cyber Defence Apprenticeship, launching March 2026. Designed to empower IT teams with cutting-edge skills, this programme helps organisations stay ahead of evolving threats and build a stronger, more secure digital future.

About the role

Cyber Security plays a critical role for companies to protect them from the rapid growing risks of cybercrime across the business networks.  The program delivers: 

·       Cyber Security governance models and legal frameworks
·       Threat management 
·       Incident detection and response
·       Disaster recovery and business continuity protocols
·       Forensics and legal compliance
·       Cyber Audit processes
·       Emerging technologies to protect business
 
Programme structure

  • Hybrid Model delivery– The course duration is 20 months and Apprentices will attend college for in person lab tutoring only 11 times during that period. All other delivery is completed online. 

  • Specialist Skills Development – Apprentices gain knowledge and practical skills aligned with Cyber Security requirements to develop your in-house skills set.
