GMB star to host this year’s Hive Awards

Ranvir Singh presenter and political editor for Good Morning Britain, will this year be hosting the prestigious Hive, Blackburn and Darwen Business Awards.

Ian Brown, chair of the Hive Ambassadors Network, which organises the awards said: “We are really pleased to welcome Ranvir to be the host of the awards this year.  She’s a well-known face in the media nationally, but also well known in our region for the her many years working at the BBC as co presenter on North West Tonight. She’s going to be a fantastic host and I can’t wait for the award ceremony on the 27th June.”

Ranvir, born in Preston, has seen TV highlights including guest presenting the Tonight programme and fronting shows such as Real Stories with Ranvir Singh and reporting on high profile breaking news stories including the G20 Summit, the Oscar Pistorious’ shooting and covering Obama’s second term election success.

Ranvir has also won awards for her work including being awarded “Best On Screen Talent” at the Royal Television Society’s North West Awards.

This year’s awards ceremony will be held at the stunning Kind George’s Hall. Guests will be treated to a drinks reception followed by a three-course dinner and a host of entertainment in addition to the awards ceremony itself, which will see the winners of this year’s Blackburn with Darwen Business Awards announced.

Hive has also revealed a host of new sponsors for the awards this year, including Star Tissue and Eric Wright Group as category sponsors and East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce as event supporter.
