Law firm Farleys Solicitors recently donated £500 to local mental health charity PH7 LIFE, as part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to its employees and the local community
Founded by former Accrington Stanley footballer Paul Howarth, PH7 LIFE Charity and The PH7 Wellbeing Centre in Burnley, run innovative 4 & 8-week courses specifically working with people who are suffering from depression along with providing Mental Health training delivered by their Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Paul set up the Wellbeing Centre 2 years ago after overcoming his own battle with depression. Their Organisational Health arm – PH7 Health, provides Organisational Partnerships that work with companies to provide therapeutic support and training for staff to create a clear structure and improve productivity.
The donation from Farleys will fund a free place on a four week course for someone who is suffering with depression and anxiety. The course integrates Psychotherapy and Counselling with Yoga and Holistic Therapy and has a 82% recovery rate for depression and 92% for anxiety
Paul Howarth also came to run a mental health awareness training session for Farleys’ employees at a recent firm-wide event.
Paul said : I admire Farleys for taking a pro-active approach to engaging with their staff around how they feel supported in relation to mental health. Opening these doors to communication, along with professional intervention are essential ingredients for organisation to work internally together to build a stronger, more robust and indeed more productive workforce going forward into the next decade and beyond.
Marketing Manager Reta Rose commented: “Here at Farleys we’re very conscious of our responsibilities as an employer – not just to our staff but also the wider communities that we are part of.
“Working with Paul and the team at PH7 has been a great example of this, allowing us to provide essential awareness training for our employees whilst also being able to contribute to the charity and allow someone in need to access some much needed support”.
