New Blackburn hub to open for business
A brand new business hub is opening in the heart of
Blackburn for start-ups, freelancers and small businesses
The
working world has changed for many of us and for many it is time to adapt.
CQ Works is a brand new, collaborative workspace situated within Blackburn town
centre’s One Cathedral Square office building.
The flexible, supportive co-working environment is a one-stop business hub which gives freelancers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and existing businesses the opportunity to scale up or down.
The space has been created by Cummins Mellor, operating from the fifth floor at One Cathedral Square, in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council to give any business, no matter what their size, the chance to operate from the town’s most prestigious offices by offering affordable rates and short term leasing options.
As well as private desks and team spaces, CQ Works gives tenants the option to take the hard slog out of running their company by engaging Cummins Mellor’s team of resident business support professionals who can offer tailored back office support solutions.
Support available includes HR, accounts, invoicing, credit control, recruitment, marketing, leadership mentoring/coaching, background screening and secretarial support.
The fully serviced office space is built around everything needed to start and maintain a successful enterprise. Security, technology, cleaning and maintenance is taken care of, leaving tenants to focus solely on their business.
Richard Mellor, Cummins Mellor Chairman, said: “In a post-covid world, many businesses are considering distributing their workforce to stop any serious disruptions with the new NHS track and trace system.
“Finding a new office space is also a serious consideration for businesses who are adopting flexible, remote working and need fewer desks as a result.
“Along with the council, we created CQ Works as an ideal solution for both these challenges, as well giving new businesses the opportunity to work in a prestigious environment which was not an affordable option before. This will help bring prosperity to the town after what has been a difficult time for us all.”
Councillor Phil Riley, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive member for Growth and Development, said: “This is a very good opportunity for small businesses and anyone starting up at the moment. The business world is working a bit differently at the moment as we work through the coronavirus crisis, so we want to help people to get them, and the borough, through thisas best we can.”
From just £100 per week, desk spaces can be hired on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Town centre parking is available and there is the opportunity for external businesses to utilise the conferencing facilities for full or half days, dependent on their requirements.
All the workspaces will be designed to totally comply with social distancing measures.
