Charity Goals, Halloween Specials and Lancashire Debuts

A bit of a personal one for me this month…

The last month has flown by with numerous live theatre events across the North West a trip to the USA and filming starting on a new project, but a few things certainly stood out and I wanted to share with you.

Firstly it was announced that I’ll be performing as part of the Lancashare Day in November. I’ll be delivering something very special for you that the one and only Lisa Edge and I have been working on for a few months now - it’s all hush hush but all will be revealed at the event…

If you haven’t already booked your tickets get on it! As with everything Lisa does the day is going to be nothing short of magnificent! (Nothing to do with me being at the event I may add)

In September I organised and hosted A Night of Variety at Clitheroe’s The Grand to support Lucy’s Mission to Michigan, my first public show in Clitheroe, and what a night it was.

For those who don’t know, Lucy is a little girl from Great Harwood who has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer that has an awful prognosis. However, hope is on the horizon with a brand new treatment in the USA. As it’s not available over here Lucy and family have been tasked with raising an astronomical £150,000 for travel and treatment in Michigan.

Lucy’s brother and my son are very good friends so we know the family well. The news at diagnosis was devastating and everyone in the extended community rallied together to help raise a phenomenal £135,000 to date.

I’m enormously happy and proud to say as part of A Night of Variety, with 3 world class acts - Lili La Scala, Thom Peterson and myself (cough sure I’ll include myself in that cough), performing a very special cabaret night we raised over £1600.

The show was supported by many local businesses including Elizabeth Grace Hair, Somax Kitchens, Ribble FMBrizola Bar and GrillPaint PotWigan AthleticAccrington StanleyBurnley Football ClubBlackburn Rovers, The Grand and Vanishing Cabaret - a huge thank you to all of them for supporting the show and all of those who came.

On the note of cabarets it brings me to my final news of the month - many of you may know that I’ve recently premiered The Vanishing Cabaret in Manchester which has sold out every show thus far. As such we’ve just announced dates extending through 2020, but something a little different is just around the corner.

Our Halloween special, Haunting at 1837, takes place on October 31st in Manchester. With only 2 shows for this intimate victorian seance with a modern twist I’m so proud to say the first show has already sold out with only a handful of tickets left for the evening show.

This is a project Sam and I have worked on for many years and it’s exciting to see that hard work coming to life.

As always I hope to see you at a show soon for a totally different type of entertainment, but more importantly I look forward to meeting many of you at the Lancashare day, 27th November
