A job vacancy for the role of Membership Officer has become available at Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce.
The opportunity has arisen due to the departure of Gemma Collins, who spent nine years working at the Chamber, and who many will know through her work as Membership Officer. Gemma has become Business Relationship Officer at Lancashire Cyber Foundry at Lancaster University.
“We miss Gemma a great deal,” said Vicky Lofthouse, CEO at Lancaster & District Chamber of Commerce. “She started at the Chamber, like me, as an administrator, and left as an extremely popular, knowledgeable Membership and Export Manager. The board, team and I wish Gemma all the luck in the world and hope to see her at a Chamber event in her new role soon.”
Vicky added: “We will start recruiting in the next few weeks for a new Membership Officer to work alongside our team at our offices on the White Lund Trading Estate, Morecambe.”
She explained: “This is a wide and varied role, challenging yet very rewarding. We need somebody who has first-rate people skills, who can recruit people into Chamber membership and build strong business relationships with them. The new officer will need a flexible attitude to work and a willingness to attend Chamber events, which can range from our regular Members Meet to black-tie events across the district and sometimes further afield. The right candidate also needs to be able to encourage members to increase their involvement in the Chamber and its activities.”
The Membership Officer is often the first person a potential Chamber member has contact with and therefore acts as an ambassador for the organisation.
