When we at Iosys relocated to Windermere towards the end of 2019 it was always our intention to become part of the local community.
And as a thank you for making us so welcome, director Craig Johnson has given his time and skills to create a new website for the local church group of Hawkshead Benefice.
Craig said: “The benefice already had a website but it was basic. We’ve completely redesigned it, taking the existing content and giving it an entire facelift. We’ve made the site fully mobile friendly and implemented an SSL certificate, making it secure-as-standard.”
The Church of England benefice comprises four churches serving the four parishes of Hawkshead, Sawrey, Rusland & Satterthwaite, in the stunning southern Lake District.
Some of the site photography was repurposed and optimised for the web – with a few photos by local photographer Tim Brownlow among the images featured.
Craig added: “The Vicar looked after the old website but, by his own admission, isn’t ‘techy’. We’re hosting the new site on our UK-based dedicated servers and managing everything on behalf of the benefice, one less thing for Reverend Dixon to be concerned with.”
Reverend Dixon provided a glowing review for the work undertaken "Excellent all round. A great website was produced for us. All beautiful and working well. Really good and friendly communication and understanding of my lack of technical knowledge. Generous to a fault."
“Due to the pandemic, church events are limited at the moment but once lockdown eases, more news and information will go on the site. It’s now much more intuitive and it’s been well received by the benefice.
“Now that we’re well & truly settled in our Lakeland home, we’re glad to be able to give something back to the local community.”
