One of my friends was struggling to describe what he does. He needed a nice, simple and compact phrase that he could use when meeting people or at networking events to explain quickly and straightforwardly the range of things that he does.

I suggested to him that he write down in long form a list of everything that would come into his capabilities. Everything he would normally list out to people as to the range of things that he can do for them.

I then used the core executive team to analyse it and produce a simple summary that he could use.

I am an award winning semi retired Architect who had as been helping people with their property requirements for many many years .

This involved me in the field of hospitals , hospices , commercial and industrial , social housing and perhaps more importantly private individuals and their families with extensions to their existing homes 

The largest project we were involved in was £500m the smallest -£5k !

My thoughts are that the key to a successful outcome is to digging deep to understand what the clients priorities are and then work in depth to provide it - more often it is not it is not a glossy award but simply a project that is fit for purpose -finishes on time and on cost ! 

As a result of working with and learning from developers - I have developed from them the way to approach a piece of land / building that would end up providing the maximum returns .Sometimes  I am involved in the " Architecture "-sometimes not . One example is we worked with an amateur football club to relocate and helped them achieve £1.8 m for their land  with minimal design input
