Tamarind Tree Consulting Ltd offers a range of training, from in house courses to public training. As your trainer, I bring 20 years experience of practical application of process improvement, quality management systems and environmental management systems implementation to your education. The focus of my efforts will be to help you develop the practical skills to make a difference in your business, supported by an understanding of the basic principles of improving a business.

Training and Mentoring

Change requires the strength to unlearn old habits, understanding to see what must be different, and discipline to adopt the changed behaviour until it is seen as the natural way to do things.

Helping people change requires the educator to understand how the student learns and adapt their teaching style accordingly.

I believe that the teachers you remember, the ones who change your life, show one more quality – PASSION. As a student, you learn not only the technical aspects of your subject, you also learn the attitude required. If your teacher is passionate about their subject and interested in the content that is how you will perceive it.

I am passionate about process improvement, quality and print. This is allied to a keen interest in the technical aspects of the subjects, and a love of helping you to learn the skills you need to change your business.

Mentoring is similar to training, but is usually carried out one on one with the student. Mentoring is not the passive provision of knowledge, it is guided learning, helping the student to see errors in thinking and learn from mistakes. The aim of mentoring is to create learning habits that will last a lifetime.

Process improvement is underpinned by individual improvement. Both aspects of development require those being developed to move outside of their comfort zone. That creates tension and uncertainty, a good mentor will use their skill and experience to challenge the students thinking without undermining their confidence.

I have many years experience of mentoring employees to enable them to exceed the limitations they have placed upon themselves.

As a mentor, I will use my experience at every level from laboratory technician to company director to help you develop as both a manager and a leader.

Lean Six Sigma

Lean six sigma is a combination of two powerful methodologies.

Lean has become associated with improvement through minimised stock, single item process flow and reduction of waste, part of which is a focus on customer quality.

Six sigma is a statistically focused technique that is associated with reduction in variation and improved quality through consistency.

Both methodologies come together through the scientific method, expressed either as the PDSA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, also known as the Deming cycle, or the DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control) cycle, also known as the six sigma cycle.

Lean six sigma training with Tamarind Tree Consulting Ltd can be certified by the British Quality Foundation through an associate company. You can choose to work through each belt in turn, or work towards black belt certification immediately, you choose which process is most appropriate for your circumstances.
