Training 2000 Introduces New Tutor for Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship

By

Training 2000 tutor Bethany Sinacola is using her generous experience in the Healthcare sector to lead on the new Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship.

Bethany, born and raised in Rossendale has joined Training 2000 as a tutor for the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship that is new to the Training Provider.

She brings with her industry experience that will help when guiding students through the apprenticeship and on into full time employment or further study.

Bethany completed a Level 5 Assistant Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship in Bolton University and then went on to complete a BA Honours in Health and Applied Science at Liverpool John Moore’s University.

When asked if Healthcare was always the route she saw herself taking, Bethany admitted it was never on the cards. “I was directed into Engineering and Science based subjects throughout High School by both teachers and family”.

Unsure on what her future held, Bethany made the decision to travel before finishing her A-Levels and made her way to Phuket, Thailand where she got a job working in a prison orphanage.

Seeing how helping the young and disadvantaged made her feel, she realised Healthcare was a career pathway that she has not given any thought to in the past.

Since making the decision to pursue a career in Healthcare, Bethany has worked in multiple roles that make her a perfect fit for teaching the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship at Training 2000.

Bethany has worked in Mental Health at a dual-diagnosis unit for ex-offenders as well as working for Pennine Acute Trust in Theatre and other areas which were agency based. She has also worked as a Care Manager of Cherry Tree Lodge in Rawtenstall.

More recently, Bethany has worked in Community Integrated Therapy for East Lancashire as an Assistant Practitioner and throughout all areas of the East Lancashire Hospital Trust as a Health Assistant and an Assistant Practitioner. In these roles she has worked alongside District Nurses and worked within Accident and Emergency.

In September 2019, Bethany took a step into teaching and taught the Senior Healthcare Support Worker qualification and others in private hospitals before joining Training 2000 in 2020.

It is this varied experience that means Bethany is able to support learners on their journey to becoming an Allied Health Professional, working in Mental Health and Theatre and more through the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship at Training 2000.

This also means that employers can be given the flexibility of choice when it comes to the optional modules within the Apprenticeship. Employers are able to tailor the Apprenticeship modules to the job role more specifically.

The flexibility continues over into where the Apprentice will study. Training 2000 have a site in Blackburn but also have access to clinical labs in both Burnley and Preston at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

The Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship is an 18 month course which includes the End Point Assessment to complete the programme.

Training 2000 can offer multiple career pathways from one Level 3 starting point. This opportunity and talent pipeline offers major benefits to both employers and learners offering seamless development and progression.

Training 2000 who are part of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) works with school leavers, apprentices and higher education learners with the goal of educating and preparing learners for the world of work that awaits them. The training provider’s main focus is to support its learners to achieve the qualifications they need, alongside helping to develop employability skills and knowledge that employers are looking for.

The next cohort of the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship will be starting in January 2021. For more information on upskilling an existing member of staff or bringing on a new Apprentice, please contact: businessdevelopment@t2000.co.uk
