Employees at North West law firm Farleys Solicitors encouraged colleagues, clients and the wider community to lend their support to five local causes local through the donation of food, toiletries and gifts as part of their Christmas campaign.
Each of the causes was chosen due to their work with the homeless and vulnerable across Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The collections ran from the firm’s offices in Blackburn, Preston, Accrington, Burnley, and Manchester.
The campaign, which ran from Monday 3rd to Monday 17th of December, culminated in deliveries of many boxes of donated items this week.
Farleys’ two offices in Blackburn, on Richmond Terrace and Shadsworth Business Park, collected in aid of Nightsafe; a charity that provides support and shelter for young homeless people aged between 16 and 24 years old.
Farleys’ Preston team, on Winckley Square, have supported Penwortham Food Bank with the collection of dozens of items of food and toiletries. As the use of food bank services continues to increase, providers across the country rely heavily on public donations…
The Mustard Tree was the chosen charity for Farleys’ Manchester offices on Deansgate. Being based in the city centre, staff there have seen first-hand the struggle of homeless people on the streets and were enthusiastic about helping in any way they could.
Farleys’ Burnley office collected in aid of Gateway, a service that provides accommodation for homeless and vulnerable people from the local community. Food items and toiletries were donated to ensure that those housed within the project could live comfortably over the winter months.
Finally, Farleys’ Accrington team supported Maundy Relief in collecting donations from their reception on Willow Street. The charity provides a listening ear to people in crisis as well as food parcels.
Reta Madgin, Marketing Manager at Farleys Solicitors commented;
“As many of us are getting excited about the prospect of receiving gifts and feasting on treats this Christmas, it is sometimes forgotten that there are people who are without even the basic food and toiletries needed during the winter months.
For this reason, we decided it was important that we give something back this year and ensure that these people have what they need. The response from the team has been excellent and we would also like to thank everyone who dropped off donations over the two weeks.”
