March on the Move: Connecting Counties, Celebrating Communities

March has been another month of momentum for GB Shared as we continue strengthening our county‑by‑county ecosystem across the UK. From celebrating women in business to championing community leaders, it’s been a powerful reminder of why we do what we do — and why local connections matter.

Celebrating International Women’s Day in Lancashire

We kicked off the month with our wonderful Lancashare members at Farleys Solicitors, part of Lawfront, to celebrate International Women’s Day. Surrounded by passionate, driven women who uplift businesses and communities across the region, it was a chance to reflect on progress, purpose and the power of shared support.

Powering Innovation in Cheshire
Next stop: Chester.

We joined Cheshire Innovation at Storyhouse for a business event delving into the complexity of funding, growth and the real challenges SMEs face when scaling. Expertly delivered by Manchester Metropolitan University, the session recognised what we see every day — that innovation thrives faster when regions share knowledge, break down silos and come together.

Championing Community Heroes with NCRC
The week ended back in Cheshire with our Cheshare members NCRC at Trafford Hall.

This remarkable charity supports community champions working quietly behind the scenes in towns and neighbourhoods across the UK. Their residential weekend offered these heroes rest, recognition and the chance to connect with others doing equally vital grassroots work.
Being part of that gathering reaffirmed why local ecosystems matter — because when communities are supported, the entire region grows stronger.

Why We’re Doing It
GB Shared’s mission remains clear:

To connect UK businesses, county by county, to shared opportunities through place‑based, sustainable ecosystems.

Every event, every partnership, every shared story moves us closer to a stronger national supply chain — one that helps businesses grow, becomes naturally greener and rebuilds communities from the ground up.

Forward‑thinking businesses are invited to join us, share what they can, and grow together.

Next Stop: Cheshire Day

We’re gearing up for Cheshire Day, taking place on 30th March at the breathtaking Crabwall Manor in Chester.

A stunning venue for a special day, bringing together businesses, charities, innovators and leaders who care about the future of their region.  If you are a Cheshire business - why not book your place to join us!
