Nybble in the community
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a negative toll on many industries over the past year. One of those badly affected has been education, as many children have been forced to learn from home, regardless of their circumstances.
At Nybble we are always looking out for the local community and have recognised that not all children have the required devices to be able to maximise their learning from home. This has created a digital divide within education which we believe is a huge issue that needed addressing.
Our partnership
As a result of this, we are teaming up with Blackburn Youth Zone and Secret Santa CIC to help combat this issue and ensure that no child’s future is hindered by a lack of finance at such a young age.
Blackburn Youth Zone and Secret Santa CIC have each announced campaigns to collect and distribute laptops and tablets to any family that needs them in a bid to stop this inequality.
We have stepped in to assist both campaigns with an offer to act as a drop off point for the devices, but with the added ability to refurbish each device to make sure that they are ready to use as soon as they are distributed to their new homes.
Our Managing Director, Ram Gupta, has stated “Technology has a huge power for good and transforms learning. But without access to a laptop or tablet our local children will be left behind. We cannot sit back and watch this happen.”
