Farleys Solicitors and Parkinson Real Estate teamed up recently to put on a networking event with a difference, pitting teams against each other on the race track to see who was the fastest, all in the name of charity.
The karting endurance event, held at TeamSport in Preston, raised over £500 for local charity Cash for Kids. The money raised will go towards the Mission Christmas campaign, to ensure that every child has a happy Christmas. Last year, nearly 19,000 children who live in Lancashire were helped by Cash for Kids with 15,500 of these being supported at Christmas time.
Teams on the night included Barclays, Begbies Traynor, Handelsbanken, Anderton Gables, HSBC, Wash Design, Empine Group and Rushtons Accountants. Winners on the evening were Empine Group, followed closely by Parkinsons and Farleys in 3rd place.
Rob Greenwood from Parkinsons said “this was a great event, with lots of local businesses taking place. We wanted to put on something a little bit different to the usual networking events, and this was a great opportunity for business to catch up, alongside a bit of healthy competition!”
Stephen Greenwood from Farleys, who also sits on Cash for Kids local executive board, added “not only did everyone have fun, but they also enjoyed useful networking and raised money for a great cause at the same time.
“Thanks to everyone who took part. We’ll be looking to run the tournament again in 2019, if you would like to put in a team – get in touch!”
