The media and communications for
one of England’s most historic hotels will be handled by a Chorley PR agency
who boast a wealth of experience in the hotel and hospitality industry.
With its doors currently closed,
management at The Feathers Hotel in Ludlow have appointed KRPR to handle all pre
and post opening PR and social media as well co-ordinating the hotel’s
re-opening over various stages.
The hotel, which dates back to
1619, is now under new ownership having been acquired by Crest Hotels for an
undisclosed sum.
Crest Hotels is a privately owned
and managed hotel group and the 17th century, 40-bedroom hotel is
the latest addition to the company’s portfolio.
Since coming on board, KRPR have already
assisted with the new ownership announcement and Kara Rose, managing director
at the Chorley-based firm, said: “I am delighted the agency can be involved
with such a notable and iconic hotel.
“The Feathers is steeped in
history and it has been great learning about its past but more importantly,
planning for its future.
“We’ve put together a detailed
communications plan which will assist the opening and already, we’ve had
tremendous results in both local, trade and regional press. What is clear from the outset is that people
really do support Crest in ensuring the hotel can once again re-open its doors
for business and we look forward to working with the hotel team with effective
PR tactics and digital support to create as much buzz and awareness as possible
on a national scale.”
The purchase of the historic
Feathers Hotel comprises 40 bedrooms, reception area, four function rooms,
restaurant and bar; all of which will benefit from a soft refurbishment and
modernisation that ensures all customer touch points retain the charm and
character the hotel is famous for, having once been described as the most
handsome hotel in the world.
Crest is investing over £1m to
re-position the property, which includes an aesthetic makeover to public areas,
rooms and the function suite, a new tea room as well as complete new plumbing
throughout.
Jason Hiley, Group Operations
Director at Crest Hotels added: “Having spoken to Kara at length, it was clear
that their passion, enthusiasm and experience in the hospitality industry is
second to none and we are delighted to have them on board. It is an exciting time for The Feathers and
by having such a well-connected PR agency by our side we know they will ensure
we leave no stone unturned in generating awareness, bookings and of course
driving footfall to the hotel.”
Since conception KRPR has worked
with hotels and hotel brands including Park Inn by Raddison, Hampton By Hilton,
Valor Hospitality Europe, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Best Western and Squire
Hotels amongst others and is therefore perfectly placed to support the
re-opening of The Feathers Hotel.
