GB Shared Joins Forces with NCRC to Support Hidden Community Champions

By

GB Shared founder Lisa Edge spent the day with NCRC, part of the Regenda Group, to help launch a powerful new programme aimed at recognising and supporting hidden community champions – individuals who selflessly serve their communities, often without recognition or support.

The initiative, led by NCRC, brings together a cohort of local heroes nominated by businesses across the North West. These champions are already making a difference in their communities – from helping with form-filling and food banks to tackling issues like loneliness, homelessness, self-harm, domestic abuse, and emotional wellbeing. Now, they’ll receive the support they deserve to continue their great work.

The programme will provide each champion with:

  • Tailored development support
  • A pathway to a recognised leadership qualification
  • Access to a network of like-minded changemakers
  • Membership to GB Shared, unlocking green impact tools, knowledge sharing, and community-wide visibility

Lisa Edge, founder of GB Shared, said:

“I’m incredibly humbled to be involved. Every share platform we’ve built exists to make life and work easier, to amplify social impact, and to connect communities. These champions are already doing extraordinary things – we’re here to help them do even more.”

The collaboration between NCRC, GB Shared, and other partners will ensure that each champion is not only recognised but also empowered to grow their impact, with wraparound support that includes digital tools, sustainability frameworks, and access to wider opportunities.

This initiative marks a significant step in building stronger, more connected communities – from the ground up.
