Local Burnley lad Adam Waring is one of Seriun’s newest Support Engineers, leaving his science teaching role behind.
Adam studied BSc Biochemistry at the University of Manchester closely followed by a PGCE in Chemistry. He has also achieved various CompTIA IT qualifications, which confirm and validate his excellent technical ability.
Previously working as a science teacher at King David High School in Manchester, he gradually became more and more involved helping with their IT. His passion for working with tech grew so much he decided to make a career change into the IT industry and embarked on his new role as IT Support Engineer with Seriun. He is part of Seriun’s Service Desk team and helps resolve customers technical issues and handles their queries. As part of his developmental plan, Adam will be working towards industry qualifications such as Microsoft Server+ and CCNA.
Adam stated: “Just a few weeks in and I already feel settled in my new role with Seriun. It is a completely different environment for me, and the Seriun team are a breath of fresh air. It’s a great feeling to be treated as a professional and to be valued by clients and colleagues alike. The support from everyone has been both welcoming and refreshing”.
Seriun’s Service Desk Manager, Paul Jameson said: “The Service Desk is the core of Seriun, and having a super skilled technical team is essential in providing the high level of service our customers have come to know and expect. Adam’s technical knowledge is outstanding and he’s a great addition to the team.”
Having explored most Western European capital cities, Adam’s favourite place is CERN (one of the world’s largest scientific research centres). He is passionate about science and technology and the more complex the better!
Not only has Adam travelled to fascinating places but has also scored some claims to fame. One being that he has met Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Charles whilst representing the Cadets as an honour guard during their visit to Burnley.
