Farleys Solicitors has been running its annual St Patrick’s Day celebration for friends of the firm for over 15 years. As well as being a chance to catch up with business contacts, the event raises funds for Lancashire charity Cash for Kids.
This year, the St Patrick’s Day celebration was hosted at a new venue, Accrington Stanley’s 1968 Lounge. Over 140 guests in attendance were treated to a three-course lunch, entertainment from musician David Jaggs, and numerous pints of Guinness.
Alongside the fun, a charity raffle and auction took place to which several dozen prizes had been donated, including football tickets, signed memorabilia, vouchers for local businesses, and lots of hampers and bottles.
Through the generosity of guests on the day, as well as some donations from friends who were unable to make it, the event raised £7,645. This is over £1,000 more than last year’s total which held the record for funds raised.
Ian Liddle, managing partner at Farleys commented,
“We are absolutely delighted with the total raised for Cash for Kids at our St Patrick’s Day event this year. The work Cash for Kids do for vulnerable families in Lancashire is hugely important, especially during these challenging economic times so we’re pleased to have been able to support them in their work once again.
“Thank you to the team at Accrington Stanley for looking after everyone on the day, to David Jaggs for the fantastic entertainment, and of course to our guests who have helped us reach this record-breaking total.
“Over the years we must be close to having raised £100,000 for Cash for Kids through this annual event alone and this couldn’t be done without the generosity of our guests. We know it’s gained quite the reputation among the Lancashire business community and we can’t wait to continue for many years to come.”
Rosalina Lobo, Charity Manager at Cash for Kids Lancashire, commented,
“When Sophie from Farleys told me how much was raised this year at years St Patricks celebration event, I was truly blown away.
“This is such a phenomenal amount of money, let alone to raise a record-breaking figure. On behalf of the charity I would like to thank all the team at Farleys for all your hard work and overwhelming generosity, as well as continuing to choose Cash for Kids to benefit from this fabulous annual event you put on. To all the very generous guests that attended the event and those that donated prizes to be raffled off or auctioned, thank you ever so much for all your generous donations.
“The £7,645 raised will go towards funding for our Cost of Living Grants, so we can grant out £50 per child or young person to help pay for food, clothing, energy bills and any other basic necessity. This will make a massive difference to local families in Lancashire that are struggling with the rise in the cost of living. We can’t wait to share feedback from our beneficiaries on the impact you have made. Once again, congrats to Farleys on yet another very successful event. From the bottom of our hearts, we are incredibly grateful to you all.”
