The North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, the largest private-sector business support organisation in Lancashire, has received commendation from the Minister for Business.
Speaking during a debate in the House of Commons this week, South Ribble MP Katherine Fletcher, paid testament to the Chamber’s work on the Kickstart programme, in securing valuable work placements for young people across the county.
Minister for Employment, Mims Davies MP, showed her gratitude directly from the dispatch box by adding: “I’d very much like to thank my Honourable Friend for raising the opportunities for smaller businesses, and the great team at the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce for their hard work and the services they provide as a gateway organisation.
The Minister went on to say: “[The organisation] is helping many sole traders and employers within her constituency to support our young people to take these Kickstart roles up, ensuring young people have that wrap-around, vital support, getting them on to the career ladder, and above all, grasping future work opportunities.
The Chamber, as a gateway for the scheme, continues to support hundreds of local businesses to access the Kickstart. In addition, the Chamber is also offering a comprehensive wrap-around training programme to assist employers taking on candidates.
Businesses interested in registering for the Kickstart programme, and financial support, should email info@lancschamber.co.uk for support.
