Change a Child’s Life with Early Permanence Adoption

By
At Caritas Care, we believe every child deserves a loving and stable home. That’s why we’ve joined forces with adoption agencies across the North East and Cumbria to support the Early Permanence adoption programme—an initiative designed to find children loving families faster.

(Caritas Care’s Early Permanence service spans across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria).

What is Early Permanence?

Formerly known as ‘foster to adopt,’ Early Permanence offers you the chance to foster a child with the hope of adopting them, providing them with the stability and love they need from the very beginning. Rather than waiting in care, children are placed with potential adoptive families right away, reducing the uncertainty and disruption they might otherwise face.

Why Choose Early Permanence?

By fostering first, you can help a child bond sooner and experience less upheaval. The numbers are promising: last year, none of the 54 children placed through Early Permanence in the North East region were returned to their birth families. This means that more children experienced the stability and attachment they need to thrive.

How You Can Help

By considering Early Permanence, you could provide a child with a safe, loving home—helping them grow and develop with confidence. Caritas Care offers training, financial support, and guidance to ensure you’re fully equipped for the journey ahead.

As Vicky Davidson Boyd, Chair of the North East and Cumbria Early Permanence Project, puts it:

"So many children have experienced uncertainty. By fostering first, you can offer them stability and love, changing their lives forever."
