Growth Lancashire launches call for consultants

Business support and economic development company Growth Lancashire Ltd has published details of its plan to deliver £1m of new activity, strengthening the delivery of its specialist services for the public and private sectors across the region.

The company, which already provides heritage, conservation and arboricultural services, has now launched a call for consultants across twelve disciplines as it continues to build additional expertise and capacity to meet increased demand from its Local Authority partners and private clients.

As an existing vehicle for partnership working spanning more than 15 years, the company is owned by several Lancashire Local Authorities and operates across the County. It has a diverse role, including as a delivery partner for Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, Boost.

Commenting on the launch of the procurement, Chairman Tim Webber MBE, who is also Chairman and Managing Director of Barnfield Construction Ltd, said:  “Delivering additional services will create added value for Growth Lancashire’s stakeholders, both public and private, and ultimately support the overall economic activity of the County. However to do this effectively, we need access to more high-quality resource which complements our existing in-house team.”

Ian Bond, Lead for Specialist Services at Growth Lancashire, said: “Lancashire and the wider region has a wealth of professional services talent, and we are looking forward to establishing a number of new and exciting partnerships for the benefit of our existing and future clients”.

The twelve lots are Heritage and conservation; Planning, urban design and landscapes; Bid writing, business development and research; Arboriculture; Agriculture; Archaeology and the historic environment; Architectural services; Structural engineering and surveying; Climate change and the environment; Valuation and viability; Project, programme and contract management; and Ecology.

The initial closing date for interested suppliers is 12 noon Friday 20th November 2020.

The procurement is being run online via “The Chest” (the North West’s Local Authority Procurement Portal) and can be accessed here.

Suppliers who have not used The Chest before can register for free here.
