Today, we're encouraging and joining others to reach out to anyone who might be feeling lonely by taking part in Brew Monday, a campaign started by The Samaritans.
A new report shows that young people aged 16 to 24 are reporting feeling lonely more often than older age groups.
Reaching out to your loved ones, friends and colleagues can make such an important impact. The third Monday in January is sometimes referred to as ‘the most difficult day of the year’ often being referred to as ‘Blue Monday’ – TotalCRB and The Samaritans are hoping to change this!
So, how can you help? You can just listen. It’s often easy to identify someone else’s problems with your own, and then try to offer advice, but sometimes all that’s needed is an ear to listen, and a brew to talk over.
Oh, and it doesn’t have to be today, or tomorrow – or even a Monday! Everyone recognises that we all have our good days and our bad days, and those aren’t for the calendar to decide. The most important thing is to know that you can reach out to people for help, or be the help and listening ear that someone else may need.
