A Bolton based entrepreneur has given back to the community by founding the country’s first standalone blood taking clinic in her hometown.
The Phlebotomy Centre, based in Vantage House in the town centre was founded by Holly Shafiq, a previous winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2019 and prodigy of Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis.
She set up this business after suffering multiple episodes of sepsis following the birth of her daughter in 2016.
She wants to give back and help others to provide high standards of training and care, so initially set up a phlebotomy training school but has now become the first ever standalone blood testing clinic in the country who are CQC assessed and endorsed.
The phlebotomy centre clinic provides private blood testing services without the long wait times or need for GP Referral so that individuals can get the answers they need to health concerns within a matter of days, instead of months!
Promoting Wellbeing Wednesdays and also Prostate Cancer awareness along with other life changing illnesses is something the team are passionate about and hope to bring more access to these services across the North West in coming years.
