NWL Chamber of Commerce
Help for Brexit is a service run by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce aimed at helping businesses prepare for the UK’s departure from the EU on 31 October.
The service provides free-to-attend seminars, workshops and webinars, as well as expert information and access to specialist advisers.
Many businesses are failing to recognise and engage with the potential impact of these issues, with some businesses and their export/import departments having limited knowledge of other significant changes that they will need to adopt in particular in areas of: Documentation, Customs and Transit Declarations, Duties and Taxes, Incoterms, Border Controls, Origin, WTO Trade Rules, travel implications (for the servicing of contracts and other purposes).
The exit from the EU will require complete withdrawal from the Single market and there will be the need for the imposition of full import and export controls for goods moving to and from the EU in a manner similar to the UK’s trade with non-EU countries.
These workshops will inform businesses about customs import and export procedures and documentary requirements in the case of a No-deal Brexit as well as providing them with the knowledge to implement operational change.
The Customs expert will help businesses to prepare for the changes that will be implemented to the way they will trade with the EU countries, opportunities and the measures which business will need to be aware of to implement changes accordingly.
This highly FREE interactive workshop will provide delegates with the with the information they need to ensure they are prepared, have planned for and are implementing the correct changes to ensure a smooth transition when exporting and importing goods to and from the UK/EU.
The workshop will cover:
1) Ship goods from and to the UK/EU.
2) Apply for duty relief schemes, trusted trade schemes, AEO.
3) Handle Customs and Safety and Security Declarations.
4) Raise the correct import & export documentation.
5) Understand simplified import procedure preferences, trade agreements, incoterms, traces, HS codes etc.
