West Lancashire market opens up for Lake District Producers

Lake District food and drink producers are enjoying strong demand for their produce in West Lancashire according to Cumbrian Produce Champions A Day's Walk. The online shop and delivery service, which to date has delivered direct only to addresses in Cumbria, has now dedicated a day a week to deliver to postcodes on the Fylde Coast and M55 corridor.

Colin Sneath, Co-Founder of A Day's Walk, where all produce is sourced from within a day's walk of the heart of the Lake District, explains "we had some interest from the West Lancashire area over Christmas and sent festive Cumbrian produce boxes there via overnight courier. This initial demand has now snowballed to the point where it makes economic sense for both our Lancashire customers and us to deliver direct."

"It's great news for Lake  District producers who have seen their traditional tourism-related markets decimated this year. As the country comes out of lockdown we'll be looking to maintain and grow our customer base both within and outside of Cumbria."
