What is This is Cumbria all about?
We are a collective of dynamic Cumbrian producers and craftspeople formed in 2018 with a passion for producing fine goods inspired by the breath-taking landscape of our county. Our aim is to showcase the very best food, drink and produce from across Cumbria to thousands of keys buyers at trade events with a ‘big impact’ destination trade pavilion.
How did This is Cumbria begin?
The seed was sown at the Farm and Deli Show in 2018 when a small number of Cumbrian based food & drink businesses exhibited their produce to an audience of 30,000 trade buyers over 3 days. Despite their independent business successes, they noticed the gathering crowds at the large regional stands and the idea ‘This is Cumbria’ was born.
Over the following months, the concept was developed and brought to life by Thomas Jardine & Co and The Family Business Network and with wonderful support and sponsorship from Cartmell Shepherd and Enterprise Answers, branding from We are Eclectic, uniforms from Liberty Workware and print from Printing Plus our first show made its presence felt in April 2019.
Representing Cumbria in 2019 were Farrers Tea & Coffee, Ginger Bakers, Hawkshead Relish, Is My Ingredients Safe, Kin Vodka, Lakeland Artisan, Molly Rose Drinks, Penningtons Spirits & Liqueurs, Penrith Toffee Shop, Shed1 Distillery, The Pie Mill and Tray Bakes.
What about the future?
Well, Thomas Jardine & Co and The Family Business Network are partnering to take this forward and Cartmell Shepherd and Enterprise Answers have kindly offered to renew their sponsorship for 2020. So if you are interested to know more or want to come with us to 2020 Farmshop & Deli Show get in touch.
